Progress! Progress! Progress! That is what we
have made the last three years. The Lebanon City Schools are
definitely making progress towards becoming one of the best
in Ohio. We have raised the academic bar for all students.
Our HIGH FIVE provide the foundation for any decision that
we make in our district. “Success for all students because
we can teach all students” has become our guiding principle.
We
have set well-defined standards at each grade level and in
each subject area to guide the teaching and learning in each
classroom. Our creative and talented teachers are implementing
our upgraded curriculums on a daily basis. Regular district
assessments will be given to monitor how well each student
is attaining the standards. Teachers will use the data from
these assessments to intervene with individual students and
to improve their lessons. We firmly believe that if we monitor
the learning of each student district-wide on a regular basis,
then we will be able to assure each and every child is ready
for the future.
“Teacher learning drives student learning.”
Lebanon’s teaching staff has made a significant commitment
to becoming better and better at what they do through participation
in hours and hours of professional development. Some of the
district’s best teachers have become Instructional Leaders
who are provided the time to work with other teachers to improve
instruction. We have quality educators who are striving to
become the best.
Overall, Lebanon City Schools is going through
a transition from being a small rural community to a medium
sized suburban school district. Increased growth in the area
has resulted in the need to build a new high school and a
new elementary that will open in August 2004. The needs of
our students are changing and we are working hard each day
to make sure that we meet those needs. Lebanon is a great
family oriented community in which to raise your children.
Our schools provide a quality learning environment that has
a warm family atmosphere.
