To insure the safe transportation of your child, to and from School daily, they are expected to follow the rules of the school bus. As in the classrooms, any violation (s) of regulations and/or the district code may result in suspension or permanent removal from the school bus.
The district has two (2) forms, which will be given to your child based on their behavior and/or the infraction incurred.
SHORT FORM: (SCHOOL BUS WARNING): Max. of 3 This gives your child chances for improvement before the building Principal becomes involved.
For minor infractions, your child will be given a SHORT FORM. This form is strictly for your information. Your Childs Bus Driver will give your child the front (white) copy of this form. After you have talked with your child regarding their behavior, please sign and return this to your Childs Bus Driver.
- Minor infractions will receive this form.
- Students will be given the WHITE copy of this form to bring home.
- Please make sure to speak with your child, reinforce that they are to follow the rules, this will insure the safe transportation to and from school.
- Return the Signed White copy to your driver.
LONG FORM: (DISCIPLINE REPORT)
When your child has reoccurring infractions, or severe problems requiring district staff to become involved a long form will be issued.
- Indicates problems on the bus are continuing and require the building Principal to become involved.
- Students will receive the LONG FORM due to the reoccurring nature or seriousness of the offense, which requires stronger discipline measures.
- Students WILL receive the LONG FORM after three (3) SHORT FORMS have been issued.
DISTRICT CODES WHICH MAY WARRANT SUSPENSION FROM THE SCHOOL BUS: INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- USE OF OR IN THE POSSESSION OF TOBACCO
- USE OF OR IN THE POSSESSION OF ALCOHOL
- USE OF OR IN THE POSSESSION OF DRUGS
- FIGHTING
- IN POSSESSION OF FIREARMS
- THREATENING ANOTHER STUDENT AND/OR DRIVER
- THROWING OBJECT FROM THE BUS
- VANDALISM
- UNSAFE BUS STOP PROCEDURES
